Thurcroft Colliery.6 viewsI have to thank my very existance to Thurcroft Colliery and Adolf Hitler. You see " During the war " ( I'm now sounding like Uncle Albert in Only Fools & Horses ) my Grandad came down from his own town of Cleckheaton, West Yorshire, to work at the mine. Thus, helping to defeat Hitler. The Pit was to face another Foe many years later, Margaret Thatcher, who did what Hitler could never do and that was to close the mine.
My Dad also worked at the Pit and so did a lot of my mates, so this is a BLIST tribute to all of those who worked at the Pit.
